Christopher Van Epps 1. Been wanting to write about Ethan for these last 15 years and finally, upon calling in sick to work for the second day in a row, I finally have the time. So let's hear it for the influenza virus.

I'll get to my favorite track in a moment, including why I like it so much, but first some general impressions (who was my favorite allied WWII general, woefully under-reported).

I've just been notified that these reviews cannot exceed 500 characters. So I shall number them and continue... Favorite track: The Twilight Sleep.

about

The last real album before a long hiatus, written and recorded in Brooklyn, NY, in 2001-02 using whatever was around, lots of friends' instruments and a wonderful 1/2 inch, 8-track reel-to-reel machine. Mixed on a computer with some other instrumentation added in.

All sounds by Ethan Andrews, except lead vocals in Il Sintaco by Jeff Croteau, and a vocal cameo ("Came to the front ...") in The Twilight Sleep by Peggy Shea Andrews, who also wrote the lyrics for Mayapple.

Mastered by Dan Richardson in Northampton, Mass., August 2002.

The "c" in Hoxca is silent. The word means this album.

Looks good in a coonskin cap, but then you can't just wear one of those all the time without having to answer a lot of questions.
